Yes, if you were previously a CenterPoint Energy customer, you now have a new account number provided by Summit Utilities. To learn more about this recent change, visit MySummitAccount.com.
Yes, you will need to enroll in Summit’s account management portal. To log in or register, visit MySummitAccount.com or click the orange Login/Register button at the top of the page.
You will continue to be enrolled in Average Monthly Billing with Summit Utilities.
Yes. You may continue to pay at the same payment agents you are used to using. A map of payment agents can be found here. Please note that some locations may charge a service fee.
Your account number(s) have changed. If you pay your gas bill via automatic bank draft or your bank’s bill paying service, you will need to update your financial institution with your new Summit Utilities account number(s).
If your business account is set up on auto-draft, and if you have fraud filters in place, you may need to notify your bank that a different bank will be requesting payment.Your rental property’s account number(s) have changed, and you may need to make note of it depending on how you pay your bills. If your tenants have their own accounts, please remind them that their account number(s) changed and they may need to take action to ensure their gas bills are paid on time.
Summit Utilities is part of a family of utility companies providing safe, reliable, clean and affordable natural gas to businesses and residential customers in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Colorado, Maine, and Missouri, and the Texarkana, Texas area with a focus on exceptional customer service and a commitment to community.
We acquired the Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texarkana, Texas area gas distribution assets of CenterPoint Energy in January, 2022. Summit Utilities is now the natural gas service provider to those customers previously served by CenterPoint in those areas.
We are excited to be able to expand our service in the Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texarkana, Texas areas. We have welcomed more than 600 CenterPoint team members to the Summit family and over 500,000 customers into our newly established areas of service.
If you smell gas, leave the area immediately on foot and call 911. Once you're at a safe location, call us at 800-992-7552 to provide the location of the suspected leak. Our dispatch center will send a Summit Utilities representative to assess and make repairs if needed.
This may be a public utility scam where criminals pose as utility company representatives and try to steal your personal information and take your money. Our phone agents will never personally request banking or credit card information over the phone. Learn more about utility scams here.
You may reach Summit’s Customer Service at 800-992-7552 in Arkansas and Texarkana Area, and 866-275-5265 in Oklahoma. Our Customer Service Call Center will be available from 7:00 am CT to 7:00 pm CT, Monday through Friday.
Your new Summit Utilities account number will appear in the upper right corner of your natural gas bill. You may also look it up online here.
Our Customer Service team is also able to tell you your new account number between 7:00 AM CT and 7:00 PM CT, Monday through Friday. Call 800-992-75522 in Arkansas and Texarkana, and 866-275-5265 in Oklahoma.

If you are new to online account management, you will be able to create an online account using your new Summit account number. Simply click on the orange “Login/Register” button at the top of the page to get started.
If you were previously enrolled in the CenterPoint Energy online portal, you will be able to use the same credentials to log into the new Summit Utilities Customer Portal. The first time you log in, you will be prompted to reset your password.
Please call our Customer Service team at 800-992-7552 if you live in Arkansas or Texarkana, or 866-275-5265 in Oklahoma, and we will be happy to help you with starting, stopping, or transferring service. You may also use our online customer portal to start and stop service. Simply log in to your account and click on “Manage Services” to start, stop, or transfer your service.
Please let us know at least one week in advance that you are moving. Even if the gas is already on at your new address, you will need to have the service in your name. Remember, you are responsible for payment of gas bills for gas service in your name – even if you have an agreement with someone else living at the address. To protect yourself, always remember to contact Summit Utilities and have the gas service disconnected at your old address.Yes, we refer to it as a Service Initiation Fee. The fee also applies if you are transferring your service from one location to another, or establishing an additional service. For more information call 800-992-7552
No. If a deposit is required, you may either:
Yes. Until your deposit is refunded, Summit Utilities pays you interest on your money at a rate determined annually by your state’s utility regulatory agency. The interest will be paid to you annually as a credit to your gas bill.
Sometimes, but only up to the two highest bills in the past 12 months. And we only do that when:
Yes. If you are a residential customer, your deposit plus interest will be credited to your account after 12 months if your account has been paid on or before the due date and you have no returned payments. The refund will appear as a credit on your account the following month.
Commercial or industrial customers who submit a written request for a refund of deposit may receive a portion of their deposit back for the following reasons:
Yes. Instead of a deposit, Summit Utilities will accept a written guaranty of a qualified third party to pay an amount equal to the deposit. The guarantor must be a residential customer of Summit Utilities and meet the following conditions to act as a guarantor for one residential account.
Payments will be due at approximately the same time each month, but may change slightly from month to month based on the date the meter is read. When the due date falls on a holiday or weekend, we automatically extend the due date to the next working day.
Yes, you are. Call us as soon as you think your bill has been lost. Failure to get a bill does not extend the time for payment or avoid a Cut-Off Notice if the account is overdue. Bills are considered delinquent after the due date on the bill and a late fee may be charged. Service may be disconnected if a Cut-Off Notice has expired.
You have 22 days to pay your bill in accordance with regulations established by the Arkansas Public Service Commission (APSC) and 21 days to pay your bill in accordance with regulations established by the Oklahoma Corporation Commission (OCC). When the due date falls on a holiday or a weekend, we extend the due date to the next working day.
The due date of your bill is identified by the words ‘Due date’.
Payments must be received in our office or authorized payment agent by close of business on the due date. To find an authorized payment agent near you, click here.
Yes. If we cannot read your meter because we cannot get to it, or if your meter is damaged, we will estimate your usage. Example: If your meter is behind a locked gate, if you have a dog in your yard or during hazardous weather conditions, we may estimate your bill.
As a result of the transition from CenterPoint Energy to Summit Utilities new platforms in billing and service operations, customers will not incur additional fees due to the change. However, customers can expect to see higher bills due to the cost of gas. As a reminder, the cost of gas fluctuates and is not set or determined by Summit Utilities. Additionally, Summit Utilities does not mark up the cost of gas being delivered to you – it’s a direct pass-through cost.
Unfortunately, like all energy prices, the price for natural gas this winter will be higher than last winter due to current conflicts overseas, increased demand for gas, decreased supply, and various other factors. To learn more about what is driving up energy prices, read our blog post here.
Despite increased costs, natural gas remains the most affordable way to heat your home, according to the US Energy Information Administration office.
