At Summit Utilities, the well-being of our customers is our utmost priority. That's why we want to keep you informed about potential scams targeting utility customers. Scammers are becoming increasingly sophisticated in their attempts to deceive individuals. We’re taking this matter seriously and putting added security measures in place to keep your account information protected; As a customer, here are some helpful tools you can use to be vigilant and take proactive steps to safeguard your information: 

  • Verify Callers: Always ask for the caller's name and information. If you feel uneasy, hang up. Double-check phone numbers on our website. 

    Our Customer Service Department business hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday except holidays, you can call us at 800-992-7552.   
  • Secure Payment Avenues: Check our website for authorized payment options. If you feel uneasy or leery of a transaction, promptly check your bank accounts and report unrecognized charges to your bank while filing a dispute.

  • Report Suspicious Activity: If you encounter a suspicious call or activity, report it to our customer service team immediately!  

As a Summit Utilities customer, please know these key points about your service with us:  

  • Adding a personal identification number (PIN) adds a level of security for accessing your natural gas account. We use the PIN as an identifier when you connect with us through our automated phone system, when you use our online account portal, or when you’re speaking with a Customer Service Representative. It's important not to share this PIN, as it plays a key role in account validation and enhances overall security. 

  • We will never ask for money upfront to start your service. 

  • We will never call you asking for your banking information. 

  • When you call us, we're taking extra precautions to protect you. If we ask additional questions or take added measures to confirm your account validity, please know it's to protect your account and personal information.  

  • Some measures we may institute include over-validating your account information, and we may disconnect the call if certain criteria cannot be provided.
