How to Stay Safe & Cool in the Summer Heat
We all know the sun’s warm embrace can beckon us outdoors for fun and relaxation. But in the heat of the summer, it's important to know how to stay cool while safely enjoying the sun. Whether you’re doing yard work, lounging poolside, hiking, biking, or enjoying a round of golf, it’s key to prioritize safety. That’s why we’ve compiled some essential tips to help you and your loved ones safely enjoy the sunny, warmer seasons. When the summer sun is scorching, be sure to:

  • Stay hydrated: Be sure to drink plenty of water before, during, and after sun exposure.
  • Dress appropriately: Wear lightweight, loose-fitting, and breathable clothing.
  • Watch the clock: If possible, try to limit outdoor activities during peak heat hours (usually between 10 am and 4 pm)
  • Seek shade: Temperatures in shady areas tend to me much lower (and feel cooler) than being in direct sunlight.
