Summit Utilities’ Carrie Collins Recognized for Volunteer Leadership

JONESBORO, Ark. – Carrie Collins, an operations manager at Summit Utilities, was recently honored with the company’s annual Citizen Award for her exceptional commitment to volunteerism. The award celebrates employees who go above and beyond in serving their communities, reflecting the values that have guided Collins since she was a young child.

Collins credits her late grandmother as a powerful influence in her life, teaching her the importance of giving back and helping those in need. For the past three years, Collins has embodied that spirit by coordinating Summit’s volunteers for the Special Olympics track and field and swimming events. This year, she will once again lead a team of Summit employees to provide transportation for participants and guests across the Harding University campus.

“Summit encourages community volunteerism, and I am grateful for the chance to give back,” said Collins. “My grandmother was a giver who often filled the gaps for those in need, and I’m proud to carry on that legacy.

In recognition of her efforts, Collins received a $250 donation to the nonprofit of her choice. Without hesitation, she selected the Special Olympics Arkansas, underscoring her ongoing commitment to the organization.

Collins was selected from dozens of Summit employees who completed at least 20 hours of Volunteer Time Off (VTO) last year. Her dedication serves as a powerful reminder that giving back can make a lasting impact on those around us.
