Summit Utilities Awards $75,000 to 41 Arkansas Nonprofit Organizations

Little Rock, Arkansas (September 24, 2025) – Summit Utilities is proud to announce $75,000 in grants to 41 nonprofit organizations across Arkansas through its Summit Cares charitable giving program. This initiative reflects Summit’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the communities it serves and supporting organizations that address critical needs across the state.

“Our communities are at the heart of everything we do,” said Todd Jacobs, Summit’s Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer. “Through Summit Cares, we are able to partner with nonprofits that are making a real difference, whether it’s providing basic necessities, supporting STEAM programs, enhancing community enrichment, or protecting our environment.”

Summit Cares focuses on four key areas:

  • Basic Human Needs: Supporting organizations that provide food, shelter, and other essentials.
  • STEAM Education: Investing in programs that empower students and the public in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics.
  • Community Enrichment: Strengthening communities through initiatives that improve relationships and overall well-being.
  • Environmental Stewardship: Encouraging conservation, energy efficiency, and innovation to reduce environmental impact.

On Wednesday, Summit hosted a Summit Cares Impact Celebration at its Little Rock headquarters to recognize the nonprofit organizations receiving Summit Cares funding. During the event, Summit team members celebrated the nonprofits’ contributions across Arkansas and highlighted the shared commitment to building stronger, more resilient communities.

This year, Summit reviewed applications from Arkansas nonprofits by district, North, Central, and South, to dedicate more time and attention to each region. Grant awards ranged from $1,000 to $4,000, with funds going to organizations that demonstrate meaningful community impact.

In June, Summit announced its community giving grant program application was open. A Summit team member-led panel chose qualifying non-profits to receive the funding for their organizations.

Summit is a community-oriented company, and in addition to supporting community causes, it also provides team members with up to 20 hours of paid time off each year to volunteer in the communities it serves.
