Summit Utilities Arkansas Customers Will Pay Less For Gas This Winter

Little Rock, Arkansas (November 1, 2023) – Summit Utilities Arkansas (Summit) customers will pay less for their winter natural gas usage compared to the last three winter seasons. On November 1st, the Arkansas Public Service Commission approved new winter cost of gas rates for Summit customers. The new cost of gas rate for residential customers is $0.7977 per ccf, which is down from $1.22 per ccf in winter 2022. Winter 2023’s rate is a 34.8% decrease from winter 2022’s rate. “Our team is dedicated to obtaining the lowest natural gas prices for our customers, and we are grateful customers will see lower bills this winter than they saw last year,” said Fred Kirkwood, Chief Customer Experience Officer for Summit. “We encourage customers who face challenges paying their bills to call our customer service department for details on payment and billing options and information on payment assistance programs that can help you and your family be safe and warm this winter.”  

The APSC requires Summit to adjust its cost of gas November 1 and April 1 of each year. Summit does not profit from the cost of natural gas delivered to its customers’ homes or businesses.
