Summit Utilities Commits $100,000 to 25 Arkansas Non-Profits

Little Rock, Arkansas (October 12, 2023) – Summit Utilities Arkansas (Summit) is honored to announce it is committing $100,000 in grants to 25 non-profit organizations based in Arkansas. Summit’s mission is to support non-profits that operate in its service area, recognizing that the future depends on the well-being of healthy and vibrant communities.

"Summit is committed to forming meaningful partnerships and building relationships in our service area and this is one way we can contribute to the communities we serve," said Fred Kirkwood, Chief Customer Experience Officer for Summit. “We are thrilled to give back to these non-profits that work to improve our communities and state.”

The organizations receiving the grant funding are not-for-profit 501(c)(3) status organizations in Summit’s service area. They are:

  • We Care of Pulaski County (Little Rock) 
  • United Way of White County (Searcy)  
  • Central Arkansas Library System Foundation (Little Rock)  
  • River Valley Food 4 Kids (Russellville)  
  • Mission Outreach of Northeast Arkansas, Inc. (Paragould) 
  • Boys and Girls Club of Jefferson County (Pine Bluff) 
  • Central Arkansas Master Naturalists (Sherwood) 
  • TOPPS, Inc (Pine Bluff) 
  • Harvest Regional Food Bank  (Texarkana)  
  • Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas (Jonesboro) 
  • Camp Aldersgate, Inc. (Little Rock) 
  • Community Life Services (Little Rock) 
  • Polk County Developmental Center, Inc. (Mena)  
  • Downtown Jonesboro Alliance (Jonesboro)  
  • Boys & Girls Club of Central Arkansas (Little Rock)  
  • Arkansas Imagination Library (Little Rock) 
  • Beyond Boundaries, Inc. (Ward) 
  • Alexander Outreach Center (Alexander) 
  • Churches Joint Council on Human Needs (Benton) 
  • The CALL in Lonoke & Prairie Counties (Lonoke) 
  • Timmons Arts Foundation (Maumelle) 
  • World Services for the Blind (Little Rock) 
  • AR Kids Read (Little Rock) 
  • New Life Empowerment Development Centers, Inc (Jonesboro) 
  • St. Vincent DePaul (Jonesboro) 

In June, Summit announced its new community giving grant program. A Summit team member-led panel chose qualifying non-profits to receive the funding for their organizations that focus on human needs, education, community vitality, and environmental stewardship.

Summit is a community-oriented company, and in addition to supporting community causes, it also provides members of its team with up to 20 hours of paid time off each year to volunteer in the communities it serves.
