Summit Utilities Team Members Volunteer on Earth Day

On Earth Day, which is celebrated every year on April 22, Summit team members across the country used their Volunteer Time Off (VTO) hours to help spruce up our communities. Some planted trees, others picked up trash, mended trails, or did other activities that help maintain nature.

In Little Rock, Summit Utilities Arkansas team member Amanda Murphy went to a park and collected trash throughout the afternoon.

Additionally, a group of Summit Utilities Arkansas team members partnered with the White Oak Bayou Wetland Conservancy in Maumelle to plant more than 500 trees to enhance the bayou and its trail. Davy Carr, also of Summit Utilities Arkansas, used some of his VTO hours to pick up trash in and around his neighborhood in Texarkana, Texas.

Team members Melissa Wynne and Justina Pimentel of Summit Natural Gas of Maine took to the trails and lakes to pick up litter and other debris.

Adam Peake of Colorado Natural Gas spent Earth Day planting 11 trees at Sloan’s Lake Park in Denver!

Summit is proud of its compassionate team members who contributed VTO hours to make the communities we live in a cleaner, greener, and happier place to live.
