Little Rock, Arkansas (May 23, 2023) – Summit Utilities (Summit) is reminding Oklahoma customers the company plans to resume normal collections activities, including charging late fees and disconnecting customers for nonpayment, starting in July 2023. Summit originally made the notice to customers on Tuesday, April 18th.

“It is important that we fully communicate with all our customers that we will be resuming normal collections in July, so they have time to contact us and learn about payment plans to prevent late fees and disconnects,” said Fred Kirkwood, Chief Customer Officer for Summit. “We have hired more than 50 customer service representatives since last year, and they are available to help customers who may have difficulty paying their bills.”

As the company begins normal collections activities in July, Summit is actively educating customers via email, bill inserts, social media, and other communications platforms. In addition, the customer service team stands ready to set up payment plans with customers to prevent collection activities.

Those looking for assistance can visit the payment assistance resource page at www.summitcares.com and call customer service at 866-275-5265 from 7am to 7pm Monday-Friday. Before a disconnection of service is made, Summit Utilities will send a disconnect notice in accordance with the Oklahoma Corporation Commission (OCC).
