Arkansas Public Service Commission Approves New Summit Utilities Rates

Little Rock, Arkansas (November 21, 2024) – The Arkansas Public Service Commission (APSC) approves a settlement agreement that sets new rates for Summit Utilities Arkansas’s (Summit) customers. This agreement comes after Summit's investment of over $300 million in Arkansas to upgrade infrastructure, enhance safety, boost job growth, and support business needs.

“We appreciate the hard work of Attorney General Tim Griffin, APSC general staff, Arkansas Gas Consumers, Inc., and the Hospitals and Higher Education Group, who represented the interests of Arkansas customers,” said Fred Kirkwood, Chief Customer Experience Officer at Summit. “These new rates mean we can continue delivering the safe and reliable natural gas our customers count on.”

The APSC order also reduces the winter cost of gas by 17% for residential customers, reflecting decreased recovery by the company from Winter Storm Uri until April. The new rates are expected to take effect in December.
