Centennial, Colorado (May 15, 2023) – Summit Utilities (Summit) is honored to announce it has received a 2022 Industry Leader Accident Prevention Certificate for the seventh year in a row. The American Gas Association presents the award for excellence in safety performance.

“As a company, we pride ourselves on putting safety first each and every day,” said Jason Weekley, Chief Operations Officer for Summit Utilities, Inc. “This accomplishment is a true testament to our company’s value of safety on the job and within the communities we serve.”

Accident Prevention Certificates are awarded to companies that achieve a DART incident rate below the industry average for their company type and size. DART incident rate measures recordable cases involving days away from work, days of restricted work activity, or job transfer. Summit had the fifth-lowest DART incident rate in its category. Summit’s 2022 rate was 0.85, and the 2021 rate was 0.26.
