State:

At Summit Utilities, we wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for the communities we serve.

The success of our company is directly linked to the investments and commitments we make in our communities.

Our team members live in our service areas and have relatives and friends in the outlying counties and towns we support. Summit team members buy groceries where you shop, dine where you dine, and are proud to call your hometown their hometown. That’s why we stand behind giving back to the communities we support in a big way. Summit works to play a key role in making our cities and towns phenomenal places to live. We do this through community programs and charitable giving efforts.

Volunteer Time Off (VTO)

To further show our investment in the communities we operate in, we aim to go beyond charitable giving in a monetary form. After all, to be truly dedicated requires not only financial assistance but an investment of time as well. Summit’s volunteer time off (VTO) program is something we consider a perk for both our team members and our communities. VTO allows our team to give back to the local areas we serve, it promotes personal growth, self-esteem, and it’s fun and brings people together!

More great reasons our team members love Summit VTO:

  • VTO reduces stress and makes for a healthier workplace
  • VTO unites people from diverse backgrounds to work towards a common goal
  • VTO works to strengthen our communities
  • VTO encourages civic responsibility

Our Approach & Guidelines to Charitable Giving

Summit’s 2023 Community Giving Program will be available soon.

If your organization would like to apply for a grant or charitable contribution, the Summit 2023 Community Giving program giving parameters will be available in January 2023. At the beginning of each year, Summit will announce its giving areas of focus including a grant application window and an online application process. Applicants will be limited to not-for-profit 501(c)(3) status organizations located in the Summit service area(s): Arkansas, Colorado, Maine, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas.

At Summit, diversity, equity, and inclusion are a vital part of our culture and help inform our charitable giving efforts. We understand serving communities today in new and unique ways aids in encouraging a more brilliant and diverse future. We aim to break barriers and improve outcomes for those who face challenges based on social, economic, racial, and geographic inequalities. We prioritize organizations that fall in line with our commitments and values.

Generally, Summit does not make charitable contributions to:

  • Organizations that practice discrimination
  • Organizations outside of Summit’s service areas
  • Political organizations, campaigns for public office, or organizations whose primary purpose is to influence legislation
  • Contests, trips, or tours
  • Sports teams
  • Individuals, for any purpose
  • Capital requests
Summit supports organizations that are charitable, nonprofit, and tax-exempt as determined by Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service code.

Summit’s charitable giving is primarily focused on these areas:

Community Programs - Payment Assistance

Summit’s culture encourages being a valued community partner. Supporting our service areas with safe, dependable, and affordable natural gas includes offering programs to help those in need. These programs are available to those who qualify for home heating needs through federally funded programs and crisis assistance offered by counties. If you or someone you know is having trouble paying your natural gas bill, explore our payment assistance program offerings.
